Dr. Lallu Joseph is the Associate General Superintendent, Quality Manager and Accreditation Co-ordinator of Christian Medical College, Vellore, India - the largest hospital in India to be accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). Earlier, she was the Vice President of a software company and was a Teaching Assistant at Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. A mechanical engineer by profession, she went on to complete her masters and doctorate in business administration and a diploma in CQI from the Canadian Healthcare Administration. A keen learner, she completed the one year Executive General Management Program (EGMP) of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore in 2016.
A passionate teacher and trainer, she is involved in training quality implementation across the country through NABH,CAHO, AHPI and is also the faculty for many hospital administration programs. She is a Principal Assessor of NABH and Secretary General of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), India.
Dr. Lallu Joseph has served as one of the esteemed editors for the book titled "Convert Incident to Action". This publication delves into 15 authentic, real-life incidents with a comprehensive root cause analysis, correction, corrective action, and prevention strategy. She has many book chapters and publications to her credit and was part of developing the entry level guidelines of NABH standards, a joint initiative of NABH and the World Bank. She was involved in overseeing the implementation of QMS in selected Government Hospitals of Karnataka through CAHO as part of a World Bank-funded project and a part of the task force of Karnataka Knowledge Commission Implementation on procedural costing. She developed the basic and advanced Certified Professionals for Quality Implementation in Hospitals (CPQIH) programs for CAHO, which are well sought after and also 12 programs of CAHO.
The best outgoing student of VIT Business school in 2000, she has won many awards and is the proud recipient of the Young Quality Achiever Award of 2016 and the Dr M.S. Ashraf Award, Indian Medical Association, TN State for 2018. Also the recipient of D. L. Shah Award QCI for the project on Clinical Audit and BMJ South East Asian Award in 2017 as the Quality Improvement Team of the year for the Hub and Spoke model of Quality Management.
